I upgraded from XP to Win 7 Ult. and then none of my projects would open! Sample file in Battery 3 was not found and I tried to &amp;quot;Locate&amp;quot; it but Live 8 would just freeze at &amp;#39;Loading set&amp;#39; after that. Tried everything in vain and finally hit up this page. Deleted the preferences.cfg file and everything loaded up fine. Here is what happened. I was cleaning out my desktop and I must have threw away something that ableton saved there because when I went to open the set it shows as a missing file. Apparantely when ableton crashes it creates a copy of the live set @ C:\Documents and Settings\P-Hocto\Application Data\Ableton\Live 8.0.4\Preferences\Crash. I flicked through there and sure enough my corrupted track was there and it opened fine, although I had to move it to the live set folder of the original file and then search missing files. Wow, I&amp;#39;m so happy!
